My client is a long-established Building Services Contractor based in London, recognised for delivering high-end commercial developments across Central London alongside a strong portfolio of Residential, Healthcare, Education and Industrial projects. Following significant business growth over recent years, they are now seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join their pre-construction team and support the continued expansion of their project pipeline. Mechanical Estimator Position Overview As Mechanical Estimator , you will play a crucial role in preparing accurate, competitive, and commercially sound tenders for a range of building services projects. Working closely with the Pre-Construction Manager, Mechanical Design team, and commercial departments, you will be responsible for interpreting specifications, reviewing mechanical designs, and producing detailed cost plans and tender submissions. This is a key position offering long-term career progression and the opportunity to contribute to the companys ongoing success. Responsibilities include: Prepare mechanical tenders, cost plans, and estimates for commercial, healthcare, and education projects. Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to identify scope, risks, and opportunities. Produce accurate BOQs and material take-offs for HVAC, pipework, plant, public health, and associated systems. Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring competitiveness and technical compliance. Work collaboratively with internal engineering and project teams to develop bid strategies and value-engineering options. Prepare tender clarifications, technical queries, and submission documentation. Assist in post-tender negotiations and handover information to project delivery teams. Mechanical Estimator Preferred P erson Specification Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within building services (minimum 2 years). A strong understanding of mechanical systems and engineering principles including HVAC, plant, pipework, and public health. Proficient with estimating software and tools. Relevant higher level qualification or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
