Full Job Description:If the following job requirements and experience match your skills, please ensure you apply promptly.M4 Specialist are recruiting aClass 1 Shunter Driver to work at Savers Distribution Centre in DarlingtonIdeally, we require 1+ years of experience with Class 1 Driving, with a strong focus on previous shunting experience.The shunter role is critical to the effective and efficient operation of the DC, and you will perform an integral part of ensuring vehicle movements in and around siteThe Depot operates 24 hours a day; 5 days a week with fixed shift times for the shunter drivers, however a degree of flexibility may be required to support business operationsResponsibilities of Class 1 Shunter Driver:Vehicle Movement of both rigid and articulated vehiclesEffective communication with transport and warehouse by phone, radio and other.Operational support, collection of vehicles and trailers from external sites and VMUVehicle inspection, visually checking for defects and faulty equipmentRecord keeping, throughout the shift recording movements both digitally and writtenSite awareness, being aware of surrounding activity, pedestrians and other vehiclesHealth and safety focused adhering to company policyEssential Requirements for the role of Class 1 Shunter driver:Hold a valid UK Class One licenceHave valid CPC and Digi CardNo more than 6 points on your licence, only SP offences can be acceptedNo previous disqualifications on your licenceBeing calm under pressure (the job can be very stressful at times)Driving, must be an experienced driver as the site can be very small in placesCommunication is key with this role. Tasks must be recorded as complete and work acknowledged as soon as its given. Must have a good command of the English language.Attention to detail, meticulous attention to coupling/uncoupling and vehicle positioningHours for a Class 1 Shunter Driver:Monday to Friday3 shifts available:- 6am-4pm, 2pm-12am, 8pm-6am ( with a degree of flexibilityShifts average 10 hours longTemporary ongoingPay rates for a Class 1 driver:15.50 days17.50 nightsOvertime 22.00PAYE role onlyWeekly payM4 Specialist are an employment business and operates as an equal opportunities employer.
