Due to the retirement of the current Steward after 15 years in post, Delamere Forest Golf Club is looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and experienced hospitality professional / couple, keen to lead the House team at this most charming private members club. Delamere Forest Golf Club is a prestigious club situated in the heart of Cheshire and was proud to celebrate its centenary in 2010. Work has recently taken place to restore the course to the heathland state originally designed by Herbert Fowler. Over the years the Club have hosted numerous County and National events like the Logan Trophy & is currently an AIG Womens Open qualifying venue. Playable all year-round, the course is a challenging test of golf, boasting excellent greens and is well deserving of its ranking of number 2 in Cheshire, and number 44 in England with Todays Golfer. Position Overview: The House Manager / Management Couple will play a central role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Golf Clubs clubhouse, with primary responsibility for the Food & Beverage department. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this position will manage a diverse team that includes the Head Chef/Catering franchise, Bar Supervisors and service staff, ensuring excellence in both food preparation and service delivery. The role requires strong leadership to set and maintain high standards across all aspects of hospitality, with a focus on training, mentoring, and inspiring the team to provide a consistent and exceptional member and guest experience. In addition to leading the Food and Beverage function, the House Manager will take responsibility for facility management and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, alcohol licensing laws, and all relevant regulatory standards. This is a hands-on leadership position that demands high personal standards, attention to detail, and the ability to drive performance while fostering a positive team culture. Key Responsibilities: - Food & Beverage Budgeting, prepare and deliver annual F&B budgets aligned with club strategy and financial goals. - Cost Control & Stock Management, monitor F&B costs, manage ordering, stock levels, invoice procedures, wastage, and EPOS system accuracy. - Collaboration & Coordination, work closely with the GM/Committee and Head Chef to plan, coordinate and refine F&B offerings for members, functions, and events. - Clubhouse Security & Access, act as key holder, responsible for opening, closing, and ensuring the overall security of the clubhouse. - Facility Maintenance, implement and manage a maintenance schedule covering repairs, upkeep, and decoration of the clubhouse and its surroundings. - Staff Training & Development, oversee training programs and professional development for both full-time and temporary staff to ensure service excellence. - Professional Standards, maintain and enforce high standards of behaviour, appearance, and conduct across all staff to create a professional and welcoming atmosphere. - Health & Safety Compliance, lead all health and safety initiatives, ensuring safe working practices throughout the clubhouse. Key Personal skills: - Proven experience in a management capacity in a similar role - Strong leadership/staff management skills with experience of managing teams - Experience of recruiting and training staff - Meticulous eye for detail and exceptional planning and organisational skills - Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills with a confident and outgoing personality with the ability to interact with people at all levels - Passion for delivering exceptional service and able to deal with feedback in a positive and pro-active manner - A hands-on operator with a practical approach to managing day-to-day operations. - Proven experience in golf club or hospitality management, with a strong record of accomplishment in operational leadership. - Flexible and adaptable to the seasonal nature of the role, with availability for regular weekend work and occasional evenings. - Based within, or willing to relocate to, one hour of the Club.
