Job Description Associate Electrical Design Engineer Building Services DesignAn established building services engineering consultancy based in South Croydon is looking to appoint an Associate Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level engineer ready to step into a leadership role and help shape the direction of the electrical design function.About the ProjectsYoull be working on a diverse portfolio that spans:High-end residential developmentsCommercial and office refurbishmentsIndustrial and warehouse facilitiesCare homes and assisted living schemesEducation and community buildingsMixeduse developmentsSustainable, lowenergy retrofit projectsThe consultancy is known for delivering innovative, energy-efficient engineering solutions across both new-build and refurbishment sectors.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the delivery of electrical design across multiple projects, ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with relevant standards.Manage and mentor junior engineers, supporting their technical development.Undertake full electrical design duties including lighting, power, containment, fire alarms, security systems, and renewable/lowcarbon technologies.Collaborate with mechanical teams, architects, contractors, and end clients from concept through to completion.Produce drawings, specifications, reports, and calculations using industry-standard software.Provide technical leadership during client meetings, design reviews, and site inspections.Drive best practices in sustainability, netzero approaches, and modern building services design.About YouDegree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering, or equivalent experience.Chartered or working toward Chartership (CIBSE, IET or similar).Strong background in building services consultancy, ideally covering both new-build and refurbishment work.Confident leading projects and teams, with excellent communication and clientfacing skills.Proficient with relevant software such as Amtech/Trimble, Dialux/Relux, and AutoCAD; BIM/Revit experience is beneficial.Whats on OfferCompetitive salary based on experience.Clear pathway to future leadership and progression.Flexible working opportunities.Involvement in high-quality, design-led projects.Supportive, collaborative team environment.
