I'm seeking a Nursery Manager to take the lead in coordinating and optimising nursery programmes that support growing operations.This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on planning, collaboration, and problem-solving within a dynamic horticultural environment.Find out more about this role by reading the information below, then apply to be considered.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and organise plant production programmes with contracted nurseriesPlace and manage official plant orders using nursery scorecardsMonitor plant availability and report shortages or delays to the Production DepartmentForecast future plant needs up to two years in advance to secure supplyOversee plant quality and manage plant claims where necessaryCoordinate work with the Nursery Coordinator and ensure nursery protocols are followedLead the development of the annual nursery budgetEstablish a communication network with backup nurseries to mitigate potential plant shortagesProvide regular reporting and maintain strong relationships with nursery partnersThroughout the year you'll evaluate and monitor plant performance across a range of crops, you'll assess plant quality, uniformity, packaging readiness, and cold-storage material to ensure the highest standards of supply.You'll bring:Strong organisational and planning skillsThe ability to analyse issues and identify root causesA team-focused mindset and excellent communication skillsWillingness to travel to nursery locations internationally as requiredA full driving licenceRight to work in the UKExperience in horticulture, plant propagation, or nursery management would be highly advantageousWhy Apply?This role offers the chance to influence plant supply strategy, build strong industry relationships, and contribute directly to the success of expanding operations- Salary to 55k doe- 25 days holiday plus bank holiday- Pension contributionWR Engineering are the #1 recruitment partner for engineering, manufacturing & technical sales jobs.
