Milburn Construction is a privately owned and recently established groundworks/construction contractor. Their mission is to deliver the best customer experience whilst changing perception of performance.  Experiencing rapid growth, their commitment to the highest standards of delivery means the team is expanding. Recruiting the best people and providing them with the best equipment is key to their future success.They are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team where you will be involved from project inception through to the preparation and agreement of final accounts, including:Preparing and reviewing contract documentationNegotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractorsAssisting in the preparation of tender documentationMonitoring project budgets and providing regular cost reports to the project teamEvaluating project costs and identifying opportunities for cost savingsAssessing and valuing variations to the contractUndertaking regular site visits to engage with site teams and monitor progressGathering and processing information for any additional works Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and industry standardsApplicants are likely to be degree qualified, having gained demonstrable experience in a similar position. Excellent communication skills and work ethic are essential as you will be working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
