In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and facilities to minimize downtime and support production goals.Maintenance Duties and Skills:Good all-round knowledge of mechanical engineering principlesKnowledge of friction drop hammers and hot press workKnowledge of gas and oil-fired furnacesTrained in the safe lighting procedures of gas furnacesRebuild and repair of furnace brickworkBasic electrical knowledge and understandingWelding and fabrication design and manufactureReact to production breakdowns, fault-find, and repairPneumatic installations understanding and valve servicingPipework installations (M/I copper and nylon)Hydraulic installations, servicing, and understandingMachine refurbishment: strip down, rebuild, and reinstallGeneral building and carpentry skillsAbility to work at heightGeneral machining skills: drilling, turning, milling, etc.Forklift truck operativeAble to carry out P.P.M. checks and reportsFire MarshalGeneral Daily Duties:Carry out any furnace repairs needed before light-upLight all furnaces that are planned to be in production and monitor temperaturePerform safety checks on forging plant to be used, repair if required, and report any issuesCheck and start up compressors, drain excess waterCheck operation of forklift trucks and report any issuesGrease and lubricate machinery as per the scheduled maintenance planReact to breakdowns throughout the day and maintain the safety of operativesContinuously monitor production plant for signs of potential failure and safety issuesCarry out inspection and repair of plant as instructedWork on projects for improvement as instructed by management or engineering teamOperate furnaces and clip when required in the forgeCheck parameters of site fencing for possible break-ins or security issuesRequirements:Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer or similar roleStrong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and industrial systemsAbility to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematicsExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailJob Types: Full-time, Permanent, Temp to permPay: From 12.21 per hourExpected hours: 36 per weekBenefits:CanteenCompany pensionOn-site parkingSchedule:Day shiftMonday to FridayTPBN1_UKTJ
