The successful candidate will support a wide range of projects including new store openings, major refurbishments, and property development initiatives across the UK and EU.You’ll be responsible for managing costs from concept through to completion, working closely with internal stakeholders and external consultants to ensure timely, budget-conscious delivery of high-impact projects.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare feasibility estimates and cost models to support early-stage appraisalsProduce, review and manage detailed cost plans, tender documentation, and cash flow forecastsLead monthly cost reporting and ensure project budget tracking remains accurate and transparentAssist with procurement, contract reviews, and value engineeringAdminister variations, valuations, and final accounts in line with project goalsMaintain and refine internal commercial templates and cost-tracking systemsCoordinate with external Quantity Surveyors and consultants as requiredLiaise with design and delivery teams to adapt to changes in scope or deliverySupport wider process improvement across commercial and CapEx functionsCandidate RequirementsA Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification3–5 years of experience in cost consultancy or project cost management, preferably in retail, commercial or mixed-use developmentsProven track record managing projects over £1m in valueStrong understanding of the RIBA Plan of Work, tendering procedures, and JCT contract administrationFamiliarity with UK building regulations, compliance, and procurement standardsSkilled in managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environmentExcellent stakeholder communication and negotiation skillsStrong analytical mindset with a high attention to detailDesirableExperience with pan-European construction projectsWorking toward or holding RICS or CIOB membershipAdvanced Excel and cost planning tools (e.g., CostX, CATO)What’s on OfferSalary up to £50,000 per annum, depending on experienceExposure to a wide range of fast-moving, high-profile retail and property projectsA commercially dynamic and supportive environment with career growth potentialHybrid working flexibility (after onboarding period)Employee benefits including store discounts and professional development supportThis is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially aware QS looking to play a central role in the growth and transformation of a leading UK retail property portfolio.
