Private Client Associate (4-8 PQE)Location: EdinburghTeam: L500 Ranked Private Client DepartmentSalary: Attractive salary packageThis is an ideal role for a Private Client Solicitor (4-8 PQE) who wants to combine high-quality client work with mentoring colleagues, taking on more responsibility and having a genuine voice in the future direction of the department in their ever-growing Edinburgh office. The RoleThis is an opportunity for an experienced Private Client Associate to take the next step up in their career within one of Scotland’s fastest-growing and most highly regarded Private Client teams.Based in Edinburgh, you’ll join a department with a strong UK-wide reach, advising a broad and varied client base including HNW individuals, family estates, trustees and executors. You’ll work closely with STEP-qualified Partners, gaining exposure to complex, high-value matters while also playing a central role in mentoring junior colleagues and shaping the team’s continued success.At this level, you’ll be trusted to take ownership of client relationships, contribute to cross-departmental projects and play an active part in wider firm initiatives. This is a chance to position yourself as a future leader within a supportive, ambitious and forward-thinking firm.The WorkAdvise on a wide range of Private Client matters including Estate Planning, Wills, Executries, Powers of Attorney, Trusts and Tax.Manage your own portfolio of clients and develop long-term relationships with HNW individuals, trustees and family estates.Mentor and support junior colleagues, offering guidance on technical matters and encouraging professional growth.Collaborate across departments (Family Law, Corporate, Real Estate and Residential Property) to deliver a complete service to clients.Contribute to the firm’s wider initiatives, including business development, agency work and thought leadership.Your Background4–8 years’ PQE with solid Private Client experience.Proven ability to manage complex caseloads with minimal supervision.Strong communication and client relationship skills, with confidence advising HNW clients.Leadership qualities, with experience mentoring junior team members.Commercially aware, proactive and engaged with the wider goals of the firm.STEP qualification (or currently working towards it)Why This Role?Be part of a highly respected, L500-ranked team with ambitious growth plans.Take on greater responsibility with opportunities to mentor, lead and shape the department.Access a wide variety of high-quality work with a diverse client base.Attractive salary and benefits package with clear progression routes.A collaborative, forward-thinking culture where your input into the wider firm is genuinely valued.If you’d like to explore this opportunity further, please contact Tilly Scott at tilly@ / 0131 460 7747 for a confidential discussion.
