The Senior Buyer will be a confident individual to dive right in and be responsible for supporting the business in sourcing quality products and services.The Senior Buyer will play a critical role in sourcing, negotiating, and managing the supply chain for indirect purchases and will have a strong background within indirect procurement, and possess excellent negotiation skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality products to our customers.Overview of the RoleSenior Buyer - IndirectSalary - 40,000 50,000 DOEHolidays: 33 Days Annual Leave PensionHealthcare/Life InsuranceEmployee Referral SchemeLocation: CoventryCompany OverviewThe DRVN Automotive Group are a sector leading automotive group, specialising in the design, manufacture, and distribution of luxury automotive brands, recognised globally for our commitment to innovation, quality, and engineering, centred around a world-class customer experience.The DRVN group have made some major recent announcements to launch some of Ford Motor Companys most historically significant icons kick starting with the RS200 and MK1 Escort, giving engineers an amazing platform to not only showcase their engineering and design skills across various disciplines, but to work on the most amazing modernisation programmes ever to be seen.ResponsibilitiesCompany Policies: follow the quality, health, safety, and welfare policies of the companyLeading the Procurement activities across a wide range of Indirect areas of spend; including but not limited to:Capital equipmentProfessional servicesSite servicesSoftware licensesGoods & materialsConsumablesService / warranty partsDelivering Procurement activities in line with cost, quality, and delivery requirementsManage supplier relationships, evaluate new suppliers, and undertake performance reviews to ensure contract compliance and manage supplier performance improvement activitiesEnsure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operationsMonitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliersNegotiate and administer robust contracts, prices, and terms of business with suppliers - both for long-term strategic and short-term transactional supplier relationshipsDefine opportunities to realise business cost and efficiency savings utilising procurement best practice tools and methodsApply a 'Total Cost of Ownership/Acquisition' approach to opportunity appraisal and recommendationsWill be required to think and act with strong commercial awareness and will use this skill across all functions of the business in an assertive yet professional manner.Prepare, define, and execute innovative purchasing strategies in order to deliver the required valueStay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact on the business.Collaborate closely with MP&L to ensure planning, supply management, and inventory analysis are aligned to business continuity needsEssential SkillsProven ability of working as an Indirect Senior Buyer within a purchasing function, preferably within the Automotive industry but not essentialStrong sense of business acumen and analytical skillsExperience in supplier relationship management, negotiations, and cost saving / value generating activitiesProject management skillsStrong leadership and influencing skills, along with excellent stakeholder management and relationship managementAn excellent negotiator with a proven track record of successful commercial negotiationsAble to manage and execute complex negotiationsAbility to demonstrate high organisational skills and continually focus on attention to detail and continuous improvementEvidence of meeting deliverables in a fast-paced working environmentStrong interpersonal skills, and communication skills both verbal and writtenDecisive, dynamic, pro-active, and assertive qualitiesIT literate Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, use of e-Procurement tools an advantageGood knowledge of NPIMRP/ERP system experienceMust have IDLR/Full Rights to work in UK.
