Position: Payroll Manager Position Type: Permanent Location: Colchester Are you an experienced payroll professional with a passion for accuracy, customer care, and continuous improvement? Key Responsibilities: Drive high standards in customer care by keeping people informed, explaining changes, and offering reassurance throughout the process. Use your payroll expertise to deliver accurate and timely results, including Tax and NI calculations and managing overpayments. Apply a structured approach to problem-solving, assessing issues, and finding effective solutions. Identify opportunities to improve business performance, efficiency, and quality. Understand the wider commercial impact of your actions, referring opportunities to colleagues or other departments when appropriate. Collect and maintain information relevant to the role while looking for ways to streamline systems and processes. Actively share ideas, supporting a culture of improvement and collaboration. What were looking for: Previous experience in a payroll environment. Strong knowledge of Tax & NI calculations within payroll systems. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines. GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. A structured, detail-oriented approach with the ability to empathise with customers and reassure them with confidence.
