In this role you will, provide inspirational teaching on a range of Accounting subjects Level 2-4 programmes with strong achievement you will also undertake other duties associated with the role of a Band 2 Course Leader.Job title: Lecturer in AccountingFull timeAbout the role:Teach effectively across a range of Accounting and Business courses at FE level across the AreaThis includes designing schemes of work/learning plan, session plans, assessment material, preparation of resources, delivery, marking and student interviewing/guidanceCarry out appropriate assessment activities including marking learners' work, designing and setting assessed work.Monitor standards of learners' work against awarding body guidelines using effective tracking systems and working closely with the lead internal moderator/co-ordinator to ensure quality standards are maintained. Clear expectations are given to learners.Provide effective personal and academic tutorial support for learner groups through Individual Learning Plans as well as providing support and guidance to learners during teaching, delivering, tutorials and assessment activities.Essential Experience:Experience of delivering Accounting related subjects reflecting recent changes in industry and including the use of modern technologyExperience of managing and motivating young learners (Secondary/16-19yr olds) Experience of undertaking a pastoral role and effectively using individual learning planning to raise achievementEssential Qualifications:Education to level 5 or above and/or a professional qualification (e.g. AAT L4) in relevant subject area or equivalentMinimum of Level 2 qualification in English Language and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above or equivalentLevel 5 Teaching Qualification / completing within 3 years of employment or 3 years of the first available course.Why join us?At Colchester Institute, we value our staff and invest in their growth.
