Job Description Job Title: Contract Electronic Test Engineer High-Speed DigitalLocation: Colchester, EssexRate: 5065 per hourContract Length: Initial 6-month contractWorking Arrangements: OnsiteIR35 Status: Indicative Outside IR35Im looking for a Contract Electronic Test Engineer High-Speed Digital to design and build complete automated test systems for complex high-speed digital electronic products.Your focus will be on creating the hardware test environment that validates the product, ensuring interfaces and system functionality perform as expected before release.Youll have strong, independent problem-solving skills and the ability to hit the ground running.Contract Electronic Test Engineer High-Speed Digital What youll be doingDesigning and developing Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems from scratchBuilding bespoke test rigs, fixtures, wiring looms, harnesses, and hardware interfacesCreating test plans, validation procedures, and technical documentationPerforming hands-on manual testing before implementing automated or semi-automated solutionsValidating interfaces including PCIe, USB, Ethernet, memory, GPIO, DisplayPort, RS232, RS485, LINbus and ModbusUsing Linux commands for memory and system-level hardware testingSupporting prototype bring-up, verification, and production test readinessWorking with software, hardware, and manufacturing teams to ensure full test coverageContract Electronic Test Engineer High-Speed DigitalKey skills & experienceStrong background in hands-on hardware testing and validationProven experience designing ATE systems from the ground upExperience testing complex high-speed digital electronic systemsKnowledge of interfaces such as PCIe, USB, Ethernet, memory, DisplayPort and serial communicationsUnderstanding of PCB-level debugging, signal integrity, and hardware validationUnderstanding of power supplies, voltage configuration, and current requirementsComfortable using Linux commands for hardware testingStrong documentation skills and a practical, problem-solving mindsetContract Electronic Test Engineer High-Speed Digital Nice to havePython or similar scripting for test automationJIRA experienceThis role requires the successful candidate to pass BPSS screening and meet the eligibility criteria for Security Check (SC) clearance.For more information, please contact Cathy Swain.T: 01582 350053E: [email protected]
