Heads of BidsThe IN GroupCity of London, HybridCompetitive Basic Salary + bonusThe Head of Bids is responsible for leading the formal and non-formal bid management process and team, from pre-qualification through to successful contract award for our specialist recruitment and consulting brands (Investigo, InX, BioTalent & Definia). This role involves coordinating and producing proposals, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring that all submissions meet the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and compliance. Driving increased conversions, client experiences and speed to revenue. Working as part of the wider Core Functions team of pro-active, highly engaged and driven individuals, we exist to provide world class service to our clients, candidates and colleagues.Experience Needed for the role:Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in bid management, proposal development, ideally within the Recruitment or Talent IndustryProven experience of bids process management within consultingProven track record of successfully managing and winning large-scale bids.Skills:Strong project management and organisational skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Proficiency in bid management software and Microsoft Office Suite.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Leadership and team management skills.Personal AttributesDetail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.Self-motivated and proactive with a strategic mindset.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.Key Responsibilities in this role Bid Management:Lead the end-to-end bid process, including pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQ), request for information (RFI), request for proposal (RFP), and final submission.Develop and implement bid strategies, ensuring alignment with company objectives and client requirements.Coordinate and manage input from various departments (e.g., sales, finance, legal, technical) to produce high-quality bid documents.Write, edit, and review proposal content to ensure clarity, coherence, and persuasiveness.Ensure that proposals are compliant with client requirements and internal standards.Manage the proposal schedule to ensure timely delivery of all bids.Sales Enablement:Work with sales teams to identify opportunity, tailor proposals and presentations to specific client needs and requirements.Oversee Pitch Deck Creation: Lead the development of compelling, client-focused pitch decks that align with the company’s value proposition.Content Curation: Create and manage a content library with templates, case studies, and key messages to be used across bids and pitches.Stakeholder Management:Work closely with senior management to develop win strategies and key differentiators.Provide regular updates to senior management on bid progress and outcomes.Team Leadership:Lead and mentor a team of bid managers and coordinators, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.Ensure continuous improvement in bid management processes and practices.Market Analysis & Research:Conduct market analysis to identify new business opportunities and understand competitor activities.Gather and analyse feedback from clients and team members to improve future bids.Compliance & Risk Management:Ensure all bid activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.Identify and mitigate risks associated with bid submissions.What we can offer you:We have an experienced hire model so have a mature and autonomous working environmentWe take high achievers on regular international tripsWe have a generous referral scheme for talent you recommend to usHybrid working with our flexible working policyWe have our own set of Peloton bikesWe offer private health insurance, eye tests, discounted gym memberships and moreWellbeing initiatives, from yoga and martial arts to morning raves and speaker sessionsOur calendar is jam-packed with social events, from summer conferences to family partiesWellbeing and Engagement committeeWe love to give back - last year we raised £92,000 for charity through our Big Investigo Give initiative
