Purpose of the role The Deputy Manager will assist the Registered Manager in delivering safe, effective, and personalised support across the supported living service. This role involves active participation in day-to-day operations, ensuring consistent care delivery, staff supervision, and compliance with all relevant regulations. The Deputy Manager will contribute to the development and review of care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies, ensuring the highest standards of person-centred support are maintained. Key Responsibilities : 1. Leadership & Management Provide strong and positive leadership to the care team. Deputise for the Registered Manager as required, ensuring continuity of service. Support recruitment, staff development, and performance monitoring. Conduct supervisions, spot checks, and competency assessments. Promote a positive team culture and a high standard of professional conduct. 2. Quality Assurance & Compliance Ensure all documentation is up to date, person-centred, and meets regulatory standards. Assist in internal audits, quality reviews, and regulatory inspections. Monitor and report safeguarding concerns in accordance with policy. Uphold compliance with CQC Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs). 3. Care Planning & Risk Management Support in the creation and maintenance of care plans, risk assessments, and Positive Behaviour Support Plans. Ensure adherence to the Mental Capacity Act and best interest processes. Oversee medication management procedures, including PRN protocols and safe storage. 4. Person-Centred Support Build relationships with individuals receiving support, promoting their independence and dignity. Ensure routines, preferences, and communication needs are consistently met. Facilitate meaningful activities, community engagement, and goal achievement. Record and celebrate positive outcomes and personal progress. 5. Communication & Reporting Maintain professional communication with families, professionals, and internal teams. Ensure accurate and timely completion of daily logs, handovers, and incident reports. Represent the service in multidisciplinary meetings.
