Ideal for a classroom practitioner with strengths in SEN support, curriculum development, safeguarding and staff leadership.If youve also worked in the following roles, wed also like to hear from you: SENCO, Inclusion Manager, SEN Lead Teacher, Additional Needs Coordinator, SEND Teacher, SEND Supervisor, SEN Supervisor, SEND Lead, SEND Manager, Special Educational Needs Lead Practitioner, Special Educational Needs Coordinator, SEND Provision Lead, SEND Strategy Lead, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator, SENDCo / Special Educational Needs CoordinatorSALARY: 34,822 to 45,351 FTE (13,928 to 18,140 Actual Salary) + BenefitsLOCATION: Clevedon, North Somerset, South West EnglandTYPE: Part-Time, PermanentWORKING HOURS: 13 hours per week (flexible working pattern to be discussed at interview), Term Time OnlyJOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for a SENDCo to determine the strategic development of SEND policy and provision within a thriving primary school.As a SENDCo you will oversee the day-to-day operation of the SEN policy, coordinate provision for pupils with additional needs and provide professional guidance to colleagues, parents and external agencies.Working closely with senior leaders, the SENDCo will analyse assessment data, monitor intervention impact, promote inclusive curriculum access and ensure statutory compliance with the SEND Code of Practice while modelling high-quality teaching.DUTIESYour duties as the SENDCo include:Lead SEND Strategy: Determine and drive the strategic development of SEND policy and provision across the schoolOversee SEN Policy: Manage the day-to-day operation of the SEN policy and coordinate targeted provisionMaintain SEND Register: Ensure accurate records, provision maps and statutory documentation are up to dateIdentify and Assess Needs: Facilitate identification of pupils SEND and use formative assessment to inform interventionsMonitor Provision Impact: Analyse assessment data, evaluate intervention groups and report on pupil progressChampion Inclusive Curriculum: Promote access to a broad, structured and coherent curriculum for all learnersAdvise on Graduated Approach: Provide guidance to staff on high-quality teaching and SEN support strategiesManage Staff: Line manage 1:1 Teaching Assistants and the Learning Mentor with due attention to workloadCollaborate with Stakeholders: Work effectively with parents, carers, local authorities and external agenciesEnsure Statutory Compliance: Fulfil duties in line with the SEND Code of Practice, safeguarding and data protection requirementsContribute to School Improvement: Support self-evaluation and ensure SEND priorities are reflected in the School Improvement PlanPromote Positive Behaviour: Support consistent and fair behaviour management aligned with school policyCANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSESSENTIALQualified Teacher Status (QTS) and degree-level qualificationProven experience of leadership and management within a school settingDemonstrable experience of successful line management and staff developmentExperience with data analysis and using outcomes to inform strategic decisionsStrong knowledge of SEND legislation, safeguarding and inclusive practiceUnderstanding of high-quality teaching and ability to model best practiceAbility to build effective working relationships with colleagues, parents and external agenciesEffective communication and interpersonal skillsCommitment to promoting high standards, equality and positive behaviourDESIRABLESENDCo qualification or commitment to complete the National SENDCo Qualification within two yearsExperience contributing to school self-evaluation and development planningUnderstanding of school finances and resource deploymentStrong IT skills to support learning and record keepingCommitment to ongoing professional developmentBENEFITSFully funded Health Cash Plan providing up to 500 each year towards everyday health costs including dental, optical and physiotherapy appointmentsSupportive and collaborative working culturePurposeful professional developmentStrong commitment to staff wellbeingThis role requires an Enhanced DBS checkAPPLY TODAYBy submitting your job application to us you are hereby giving us your express consent to submit your details to our Client for this purpose.JOB REF: AWDO-P14459Part-Time, Permanent Teaching / Education Jobs, Careers and Vacancies.
