Shift Engineer Location: Central London (WC1 vicinity) Employment Type: Permanent Sector: Commercial Building Services / Facilities Management Overview A leading facilities services provider is seeking an experienced Shift Engineer to join the engineering team at a prestigious commercial building in Central London. This role offers the opportunity to work in a modern, high-performing environment while supporting critical building services on a continental shift pattern. Key Responsibilities Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across all building systems. Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults efficiently. Operate, monitor, and maintain key plant equipment including AHUs, FCUs, pumps, boilers, chillers, and generators. Ensure compliance with site standards, health 'safety procedures, and industry regulations. Provide clear and accurate shift reports, logs, and handovers. Collaborate with the onsite team to maintain exceptional service delivery. Respond promptly to alarms, urgent issues, and system failures as required. Qualifications & Experience NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). 18th Edition (advantageous for electrically biased candidates). Proven background in commercial building services, facilities maintenance, or a similar environment. Strong understanding of both electrical and mechanical systems. AP (Authorised Person) certification is beneficial but not essential . Previous experience within a shift engineering role in commercial buildings is highly desirable. Shift Pattern Continental shift pattern: 7am-7pm / 7pm-7am 4 on / 4 off Rotating days and nights Ideal Candidate Profile Excellent fault-finding skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
