We are working with a well established Tier 1 Subcontractor specialising in Mechanical and Electrical services, delivering high-quality packages across commercial, healthcare, hotels and Data Centre sectors. With a solid reputation built on performance, reliability, and technical excellence, we are seeking a dynamic M&E Commercial Lead to join them and support their continued growth and project delivery excellence. Role Overview: The MEP Commercial Lead will be responsible for the overall commercial management of M&E projects from pre-contract to final account. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent commercial acumen. You will work closely with project managers, clients, and internal teams to ensure profitability, contractual compliance, and successful project outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Manage and mentor a team of quantity surveyors and commercial staff. Lead the commercial function across multiple M&E projects Oversee the preparation and negotiation of contracts, subcontracts, and supply chain agreements. Ensure robust cost control, forecasting, and risk management throughout project lifecycle. Prepare and present monthly CVRs, cost reports, and commercial dashboards to senior management. Maximize value recovery, manage change control, and minimize risk through effective commercial strategies. Lead on final accounts and dispute resolution as required. Support bid preparation, tender reviews, and pricing strategies in collaboration with the pre-construction team. Ensure compliance with relevant contractual, legal, and commercial frameworks (NEC, JCT, etc.). Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners. Requirements: Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field. Minimum 10+ years' experience in a commercial role within the M&E subcontracting or main contracting environment. Proven track record managing commercial aspects of M&E packages on Tier 1 Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g., JCT, NEC). Demonstrable leadership and team management experience. Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills. Strong IT skills (Excel, ERP systems, project management tools).
