R&D Tax Consultant - Software SpecialistWe are looking for an ambitious R&D Tax Consultant with software/IT expertise who is looking to make a step up in their R&D tax career. Our client is diverse, covering IP planning audit and advice, Patent estate discovery and landscaping, Patent Box Tax Relief, Video Games Tax Relief, (RDEC) R&D Tax Relief, R&D combined relief schemes, ERIS and Innovation grants. This is a great opportunity to join an international firm who are one of the leaders in the Innovation Incentives space.The roleIdentifying qualifying R&D activities and expenditure through participation in technical & financial discussions with clients for new and repeat claimsLeading R&D discussions/workshops on clients, providing a clear explanation of the definition of R&D for tax purposes and discussing in detail, sector specific examples of qualifying activitiesManaging client 'stakeholder relationships both internally and externallyProactively demonstrating that you can identify risks in claimsCompiling technical & financial project reports to illustrate eligible activities to support R&D claims with strong attention to detail and first-time accuracyProject managing day to day aspects of the claims, setting timescales for delivery, talking confidently with clients to explain various judgements made in claim compilation and their implicationFormulating an initial response to defending claims in the event of HMRC R&D enquiriesDeveloping your own knowledge and skills in R&D tax relief and other related issues, to keep technical knowledge fully up to date in this evolving landscapeSkills and personal qualities:A degree or background within Software/ITStrong project management skillsComfortable with stakeholder managementA logical, enquiring and problem-solving mindsetStrong commercial awareness and great communication skillsExceptional organisational skills and attention to detailGood knowledge of what HMRC is looking for in reportsThe will to make a difference and interest in shaping your career within R&D TaxA genuine interest and curiosity in Science, Technology & InnovationThe capabilities to deliver innovative solutions to complex challengesAn interest in your own personal developmentThe flexibility to take on change, shifting tasks and priorities when circumstances dictate You will want to make a marked impact on the UK innovation landscapeSome benefits includeCompetitive salary based on experienceCompany annual bonus schemeHybrid working33 days holiday, increasing to 36 days after 4 years’ serviceHealth Insurance, including eye & dental careLife Assurance, Income Protection and Company Sick PayPension with opportunity to enter an enhanced company pension schemeEmployee Assistance Programme and Wellbeing SupportBike to work schemeTraining and support provided, access to the academy training portalStaff eventsFor more information on this fantastic role, please apply, or contact Ben Worsley via email or Linkedin.
