Job Description Job PurposeWe have an exciting opportunity for a talented, innovative formulation chemist to join the technical team at Group55. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing formulation development from concept to production, working with the customers/internal brief, managing expectations and aligning formulation to commercial requirements.Job Context & ScopeReports to the Senior Development Chemist.Close liaison with Commercial and wider Business to ensure a high standard of customer satisfaction. Interpretation of customer briefs into paper formulationsMeeting customers for initial and subsequent meetings to discuss projects and submissionsWork to fast/tight deadlinesRaw material innovation incorporation into formulationsGuiding the customer to the best possible formulationManufacturing sample submissions for customer evaluationManufacturing PR samples for customersPreparing samples for compatibility/stability/challenge testingAnalysis of compatibility/stability samplesSupport training other members of the Technical team.Presenting innovation to our current and prospective customers.Demonstrate habitual behaviour consistent with the core competencies, processes, and CANDO attitude.Writing Technical standard operating procedures (SOPs) Working with external testing houses/regulatory bodies to ensure compliance You must comply with legal, regulatory, and other standards as directed by the line management or the business. Adherence to all legal requirements, Comply with individual training and procedures as planned by your department Lead.Attend regular performance reviews and completion of required actions supporting documentation both informal and formal.Understanding the hygiene of the area yourself and all equipment is critical to success, Clean as you go policy to be maintained as well as following current or new GMP requirements.Shows enthusiasm for your work through their acceptance of innovation and their contribution and participation in its implementation.Seeks opportunities to conserve energy, cost, and waste at all times.Able to follow weekly plan and adhere to this to meet the demands of the Technical teams customer.Able to react where necessary and communicate issues in a timely manner.Understand the need to work cleanly and effectively.To report any defects or changes to equipment to the Technical Lead.Key Role RequirementsKnowledge/Qualifications:A minimum 2 years formulating experience in a versatile range of product formatsExtensive Technical/Regulatory KnowledgeAn expertise in suncare would be preferable An understanding of CLP regulations and formulationsGood basic standard of Mathematics & EnglishBasic user of Windows & Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPointMust have excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels within the business.Good problem-solving skills.Accuracy and an eye for detail.Excellent planning and organisation skills.Technical/Professional Experience:FMCG company/environmentTechnical process experience.Lean Manufacturing Tools/Techniques
