Job Title: Childrens Home Deputy Manager Location: Chippenham Salary: 33,000 - 35,000 per annum depending on experience, Paid sleep ins are 63/night which included at one per week gives an average deputy salary of 33,726 - 35,726. Benefits: Bonuses, pension, and other benefits. 28 days annual leave plus 3 paid wellness shifts per year. There will be other benefits for this role including a mobile phone. Shift patterns will include some on-shift working 07.30-21.30 (two shifts) and some administrative shifts 08.30-16.30 This is a unique and rare opportunity to join a progressive and trauma informed group of Childrens Homes with a focus on upholding the values and guidelines of a Therapeutic Community. The residential home specialise in providing care for young people with learning difficulties and emotional and behavioural difficulties. The role This role is a key leadership role, the Deputy Manager will be responsible for assisting the Manager in the day to day running of the Home, ensuring all children and staff and sufficiently safeguarded, supervised and mentored. It will require the participation in managing effectively the teams members and assisting in all operational tasks related to the managing of the Home. Full job description available on request. Skills and Qualifications Essential MUST have experience in Residential Childrens Social Care with a minimum of one years experience, ideally as a senior support worker. An understanding of Trauma Informed Care and therapeutic background. A working knowledge of PACE and effective understanding of what a therapeutic placement looks like for children is advantageous or a willingness to learn. Strong leadership and effective communication skills with a very nurturing side and strong interpersonal skills. Hold a Level 3 NVQ diploma in Residential Childcare. UK Driving License Confidence and Understanding of The Childrens Home Regulations and all legislation associated with the running of a registered Childrens Home. Confidence when dealing with people, the ability to challenge, guide and mentor. A clear DBS and positive references from all companies where you have worked with children or vulnerable adults. The ability and strength of character to deal with challenging situations in a non-consequential and nurturing way with the confidence to set appropriate boundaries and implement the communities policies and procedures.
