Job Description Job Title: Test Engineer Production Support & TestLocation: ChippenhamContract Type: Long-Term Ongoing ContractPay Rate: Negotiable Dependent on ExperienceStart Date: ASAP (following successful interview) Pertemps is recruiting on behalf of an internationally renowned engineering organisation for a Test Engineer Production Support & In-Circuit Test to join their Test Engineering team in Chippenham.Role Overview: Reporting to the Test Engineering Team Lead, the Test Engineer will provide technical support for electronic production testing, including ICT and Flying Probe platforms. The role involves developing and maintaining test methods, writing and interpreting test documentation, supporting legacy test equipment, and implementing updates to test processes in line with product changes.Key Responsibilities:Provide technical support for electronic production testing activitiesSupport In-Circuit Test (ICT) platforms, including Teradyne and Takaya Flying Probe systemsOperate, commission, and maintain production test equipmentIntroduce new tests into the production environmentDevelop test methods, procedures, and documentationTrain production technicians in test equipment operation and best practiceLiaise with internal departments, customers, and external test facilitiesInvestigate failed or fatigued components, carrying out root cause analysisProduce detailed test reports and present findings to project teamsProvide regular progress updates to project teams and the Engineering ManagerUndertake additional duties as required by the Engineering ManagerAbout You:Degree-level qualification in an engineering discipline or equivalent practical experienceMinimum 3 years experience in test or development (5+ years preferred)Strong ability to interpret test standards, customer requirements, and internal specificationsPractical knowledge of test, measurement, and data acquisition equipment, including:DMMsOscilloscopesNI analysersHands-on experience with electrical and electronic systems, including component-level work and solderingStrong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet project deadlinesProficient in Microsoft Office applicationsDesirable:Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. C++ for ICT)Experience using LabVIEWFamiliarity with instrumentation and data acquisition systemsKnowledge of automotive, railway, IEC, and BS standardsUnderstanding of IPC manufacturing standardsFor more information, please click Apply, or contact PertempsBristol on 0117 929 44 22 option 3.JBRP1_UKTJ
