It’s a career-defining opportunity to own the full end to end operational performance of two major production sites at one of the UK’s leading private label salad producers.You will do all this with the freedom and autonomy to drive real performance, shape culture and lead a high-impact digital transformation.You’ll be expected to challenge the status quo, build capability and develop the next generation of operational leaders all while delivering cultural change at long-established sites.As part of the senior leadership team, you’ll also be seen as a potential successor to the COO. This isn’t a “watch and learn” role, it’s one where you step in and lead from day one.With the sites located close together in scenic West Sussex, near the South Coast and South Downs, it’s a rare chance to enjoy coastal living while working at the heart of one of the UK’s most active chilled food manufacturing hubs, without the hassle of excessive travel.The BusinessThey are a privately owned and rapidly growing food manufacturer supplying major UK retailers and huge names within the food service arena which will look great on your CV!With four high-throughput production sites in West Sussex, they specialise in chilled, short shelf-life products, from leafy bowls to coleslaw.You’ll lead a large and experienced workforce, some of whom have been on-site for decades. The challenge? Driving performance, embedding cultural change, and standardising operations across sites with distinct identities, all while rolling their digital upgrade programme.What You’ll NeedTo thrive in this role, you’ll need a strong background in food manufacturing, ideally within chilled or short shelf-life categories where pace, precision and quality are key.You’ll have already led operations at either multi-site level or within a single high-turnover site and you’ll be comfortable taking full ownership of all areas of the factory not just production.Because this role will see you delivering significant transformation, you’ll need to be an operational machine! Bring with you strong experience in CI, Lean, and operational change experience, utilising your strong data-centric approach to support.This role also calls for a confident and resilient leader.
