SENDCO - ChesterfieldAcademics, acting as an agency, are recruiting a passionate and experienced SENDCO for a short-term, temporary ongoing position in a primary school in Chesterfield.This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified SENDCO to lead and coordinate SEND provision, working within a supportive team while making an immediate impact.Position: SENDCO Location: Chesterfield, Derbyshire Contract: Temporary ongoing (short-term) Pay: 170 - 235 per day (dependent upon experience, training, qualifications & client rate available) Start Date: ASAPAbout the RoleAs SENDCO, you will lead and oversee the school's Special Educational Needs and Disabilities provision. You will coordinate support for pupils with SEND, liaise with teachers and external professionals, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements. You will be responsible for strategic development as well as day-to-day operational tasks.This role is ideal for someone who already holds a SENDCO qualification (or equivalent) and has experience in a school setting. You should be ready to step in quickly and take charge of SEND coordination in a temporary but meaningful capacity.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the identification, assessment, and progress tracking of pupils with SEND.Work with class teachers to plan and monitor intervention strategies.Manage and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), EHCPs, and SEND documentation.Liaise with external agencies (educational psychologists, therapists, local authority).Provide guidance, training, and support to staff on SEND best practice.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND interventions.Ensure the school meets statutory SEND compliance and reporting requirements.Candidate Requirements? Qualified SENDCO qualification or equivalent (essential). ? Experience working as a SENDCO or in a similar SEND leadership role. ? Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and statutory requirements. ? Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills. ? Ability to work independently and collaboratively. ?
