This is a key role within the pre-construction and commercial team, responsible for producing accurate HVAC designs and cost estimates for a range of commercial and industrial projects. The successful candidate will play a vital part in securing new work and supporting projects from tender through to delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed HVAC cost estimates from drawings, specifications, and tender documentsCarry out accurate material and labour take-offsAssist with HVAC system design including heating, cooling, and ventilation solutionsPrice plant and equipment including AHUs, chillers, boilers, VRF/VRV systems, ductwork, pipework, and controlsLiaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotationsProduce tender submissions, cost breakdowns, and value engineering optionsWork closely with project managers and engineers during pre- and post-tender stagesSupport variations, cost updates, and technical clarificationsSkills & ExperienceEssential:Proven experience as an HVAC Estimator, Design Engineer, or Mechanical EstimatorStrong understanding of HVAC systems and installation methodsAbility to interpret mechanical drawings and specificationsStrong commercial awareness and attention to detailCompetent with Excel and estimating softwareDesirable:Background in Mechanical or Building Services EngineeringKnowledge of CIBSE guidelines and UK Building RegulationsExperience using AutoCAD, Revit, or HVAC design softwareWhat's on OfferSalary up to 60,000, dependent on experienceCar allowanceCompany pension schemeAnnual bonusCareer progression within a stable and growing businessOffice-based role in Derby with limited site travel--- Fusion People are committed to promoting equal opportunities to people regardless of age, gender, religion, belief, race, sexuality or disability.
