Education Solicitor

Job Description We are proud to be partnering with a Local Authority based in the North-West, who are looking to appoint an Education Solicitor on a 3 month (minimum) locum contract.This role offers an hourly rate in the region of 50 60 p/hour via an Umbrella company, but this can be negotiable depending on candidate expectations and experience. The successful candidate will need to conduct advocacy. Duties will include (but are not limited to):Providing high-quality legal advice and support on education law matters to internal clients across the Local AuthorityAdvising on statutory responsibilities under the Education Acts, including school admissions, exclusions, attendance, special educational needs (SEN), and safeguardingConducting advocacy at all levels before the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal, Appeal Panels, and any other appropriate tribunalSupporting and advising education officers, school staff, and other stakeholders on legal duties and best practicesUndertaking all preparations in relation to Advocacy, including preparation of bundles, skeleton arguments and statements ensuring full compliance with legislation and guidanceAttending relevant meetings, including Safeguarding Board meetings, Joint Partnership Groups, and Legal Gateway meetingsExperience required:Experience required within Education LawLocal Government experienceWorking hours:Flexible start/finish timesFull-timePlease note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.James Andrews is acting as an employment agency and business in relation to this role.At James Andrews Recruitment Solutions we try to respond to all applications personally, however, due to the high volume of applications this is not always possible.
