Youll lead technical delivery and mentor junior scientists, while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams working at the intersection of national defence, space-domain awareness, and multi-sensor fusion.If you thrive on applying research to real-world systemsthink radar, RF, sonar, and decision automationthis is your chance to lead innovation with purpose.Key Responsibilities Lead technical delivery of ML R&D projects and mentor junior researchers Propose novel solutions across time-series ML, signal inference, and decision intelligence Build proof-of-concept systems using Python and industry-standard AI/ML frameworks Present research outcomes to technical and non-technical stakeholders Secure R&D funding and collaborate with universities and internal partners Contribute to IP generation, academic publication, and prototype developmentKey Skills & Expertise PhD or equivalent commercial experience in AI/ML or statistical signal processing 4+ years post-PhD experience applying ML to sequential or sensor data Strong Python development skills and fluency with ML libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) Expertise in time-series analysis, signal processing, or intelligent decision-making Experience leading project teams and delivering R&D for defence, aerospace, or intelligence domainsDesirable Skills Experience in any of: radar, sonar, RF communications, EW, distributed sensing, or autonomy Familiarity with data fusion, human-machine teaming, or space-domain awareness Strong publication or patent record and experience securing R&D grantsThe Package Up to 70,000 base salary 10% company bonus Enhanced pension scheme up to 10% matched 25 days annual leave + flexible options Comprehensive private medical, dental, and life insurance High-impact, real-world research opportunities in national security and defenceIf this sounds like you, apply below or reach out to Declan Bryson at Anson McCade on 07529 161950 quoting the reference:Senior Research Scientist AMC/DB/SRS/70Senior Research Scientist
