Stores & Logistics Lead

Walker Group provides advanced high-precision manufacturing services from centres of excellence located in the UK and Poland. We are seeking a Stores & Logistics Lead to join our team in Basildon.You will support and nurture the Stores and Logistics department by ensuring accurate stock control of all goods entering and leaving the stores. Efficiently managing goods and product storage areas to meet operational and customer demands, and assisting with the receiving, storage, kitting, and dispatch of goods.Stores & Logistics Lead Key Responsibilities:Oversee the stores and logistics operations for the Basildon stores areaReceive deliveries, checking parts received match the paperwork supplied in terms of quantity, revision, condition, and that all necessary certification is compliantEnsuring stock is rotated correctly following FIFO principlesLaunch materials into manufacturing as dictated by job cards, ensuring correct revisions, condition, and transaction integrity is maintainedDespatch parts and materials to sub-contractors, ensuring all paperwork to support the delivery is included, whilst maintaining stock accuracy and integrityThe despatch of Finished Goods to customers, ensuring all paperwork is present and correct, and that the correct method of carriage is selectedEnsure all materials leaving the site are packaged correctly to reduce the risk of transit damageEnsure all parts and materials are accurately stocked in appropriate locations to minimise the risk of damage and lossEnsure the inventory accuracy is maintained properly on the relevant WMSManage and control non-BOM items within minimum and maximum stock levels, KANBANs, etcBe aware of use by and expiry dates, EOL programs, and E&O riskWork closely with Purchasing department to resolve receipt issuesPerform weekly cycle counts and support year end full Inventory count requirementsLoad / offload goods as requiredAny other duties as requiredStores & Logistics Lead Skills & Behaviours:Working, recent, knowledge of WMS principles and able to lead a small teamEffective communicatorAble to build relationships with suppliers, internal and external customers, and other Stores / Logistic team membersExcellent organisational and time management skillsStores & Logistics Lead Skills & Experience:Experienced in leading a small operational teamExperience of accurately handling materials and partsExperience of stock control systems, goods in, and the picking and issuing to work ordersCounterbalance forklift licenceDriving licence (Manual)What's in it for you?Full time, permanent contract40 hours per week, Monday to FridayCompetitive rate on offerYou'll gain access to the following company benefits: pension, life insurance, private medical healthcare, prescription protection eyewear, employee retail discountsYou will receive 33 days holiday per year which includes a Christmas closureYou'll have ample opportunities to grow and develop within the team, while working in a supportive and collaborative environmentInterested?
