Procurement Specialist

Job Description Due to continued business growth, we are seeking a highly organised and proactive Procurement/ Buyer Specialist to join our client team based in Chelmsford. This is a busy and varied position suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple priorities effectively.You will work closely with internal sales teams and external customers, communicating daily via phone and face-to-face. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform under pressure are essential.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external customers, under the guidance of your line managerPrepare proposals, request quotes, and negotiate purchase terms and conditionsPrepare and issue purchase orders and agreementsMonitor supplier performance and resolve any issues or concernsInspect and evaluate the quality of purchased goods and address any shortcomingsAnalyse industry and demand trends, supporting senior management in developing and implementing sourcing strategiesTake ownership of projects and ensure deadlines are metContribute positively as a team player with a proactive, can-do attitudeSkills & Experience RequiredProven experience as a Procurement Specialist or in a similar roleStrong working knowledge of Sage 50Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and ExcelSolid understanding of purchasing strategiesExcellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skillsStrong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentOwn TransportWhat Were Looking ForWere looking for someone who is organised, reliable, and adaptable, with a positive approach to challenges and a willingness to take ownership of their work.
