The RoleAs Workshop Foreman, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the generator workshop, ensuring all equipment is maintained, serviced, and prepared to the highest standards before deployment.You will lead from the front providing technical expertise, mentoring engineers, and ensuring safe, efficient workshop operations. Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate workshop engineers and fittersOversee servicing, fault finding, and repair of diesel generators (20kVA1250kVA+)Plan and prioritise workload to meet operational deadlinesEnsure all equipment is prepared to a high standard prior to hire or site deploymentSupport diagnostics on electrical and mechanical faultsMaintain compliance with health 'safety regulations and company proceduresLiaise with parts departments and management to ensure efficient workflowMaintain accurate job records, service reports, and inspection documentationAssist with training and development of junior engineers About YouWe are looking for someone with strong technical knowledge of diesel generator systems and previous experience in a senior or supervisory capacity.You should have:Proven experience working on diesel generators (hire fleet or industrial)Strong mechanical and electrical xjdpvnf fault-finding skillsExperience with engines such as Perkins, Cummins, Volvo, or similarKnowledge of control panels, AVR systems, and load testingPrevious experience leading or mentoring engineers (desirable)A proactive, organised approach to workshop managementCommitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards What's on OfferCompetitive basic salaryOvertime opportunitiesStable, long-term position with a respected engineering businessModern workshop facilitiesCareer progression opportunitiesSupportive management structure
