Principal Architect UK Wide (Hybrid / Remote) Up to £160,000 + 15% Bonus – PermanentWe’re looking for an experienced Principal Architect to take a hands-on leadership role in shaping and delivering large-scale digital solutions across critical industries. This is a Director-level position, blending technical leadership with practice growth, business development, and people leadership.You’ll operate in a true consulting capacity: driving client engagement, leading architecture strategy, and rolling up your sleeves when needed to assure delivery. Alongside shaping solutions that impact millions, you’ll play a key role in growing the capability, mentoring future leaders, influencing technical standards, and supporting pre-sales activity.What you’ll be doingLeading the design and delivery of complex, multi-tier solutions for high-profile clientsProviding architectural assurance and direction to multi-disciplinary agile teamsBuilding and managing senior client relationships, influencing outcomes at C-levelDriving pre-sales, shaping bids and proposals, and supporting account growthDeveloping practice capability — mentoring architects, shaping standards, and thought leadershipRemaining hands-on when required, ensuring technical depth and credibilityExperience requiredProven consulting background — shaping and delivering solutions at enterprise scaleStrong software engineering and architecture expertise (Java, .Net, Python or similar)Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), SaaS and PaaS architecturesTrack record in pre-sales, business development, and growing client accountsExperience leading teams of architects and engineers, with a focus on coaching and people developmentCommercial acumen — able to align technical solutions to business value and outcomesNice to haveRecognised as a thought leader in architecture or technology communitiesExperience scaling practices or leading capability growth within consulting environmentsThe PackageUp to £160,000 base salary15% bonusUK-wide hybrid / remote workingPrivate healthcare & pensionDedicated training budget and career development opportunitiesPlatform to lead at Director-level, influencing both delivery and business growth
