Job Title: Designer FF&E (Experience: Revit & COBie )Sectors: Commercial spaces and the Education SectorJob details: Full-time, permanent, Emsworth (PO10 7DY), office-based, salary up to £40k (with FF&E and significant Revit experience)About the RoleChalk is a specialist FF&E and Commercial Catering Design Consultancy shaping the next generation of learning and working environments across the UK. From independent schools to full-scale DfE projects, and now expanding into the commercial sector, we’re designing smarter, more agile spaces that work as hard as the people who use them.We’re looking for a junior-level FF&E & Catering Technical Interior Space Planner BIM Coordinator to join our growing team. This isn’t just a production role. It’s a chance to be part of a high-energy, innovation-driven design studio where your ideas, technical skills, and curiosity actually matter.You’ll support project delivery across a mix of design, coordination, and digital compliance tasks. You’ll work closely with senior designers, project leads, and supply chain partners - gaining experience in how complex spaces come together.You should be confident working in Revit, interested in COBie and digital standards, and naturally detail-focused. If you enjoy problem solving and want to grow your technical and client-facing skills, this is a great place to start.We’re after someone warm, organised, collaborative, and hungry to learn, ready to help us shape spaces that make a difference.What You'll Be DoingIn time, you’ll collaborate with our FF&E Designers, external consultants, and contractors to deliver:Fully coordinated layouts, schedules, and 3D models using Revit and BIM workflowsDetailed design documentation aligned with DfE standards and client visionSmart, specification-driven solutions for education and commercial spacesTechnical input that bridges design creativity with operational precisionAI-Driven Design InnovationWe're embracing the future, and our vision is to integrate AI tools into our design workflows to boost speed, accuracy, and creativity. From innovative design process, managing digital information including both geometry and data to AI-assisted layout generation and visualisation to automated COBie extraction and smart specification support, you’ll join a team wanting to redefine how BIM and FF&E design work together.Key ResponsibilitiesTo assist in workload management and task planningDevelop and maintain FF&E and Catering Revit models and drawings across project phases (concept to installation)Ability to juggle multiple tasks at different design stages, be organised & meet deadlinesAbility to work both independently and as a part of a teamProduce detailed 2D layouts, elevations, 3D visuals, and coordinated furniture schedulesSupport model coordination with architectural, MEP, and structural teamsEnsure compliance with DfE design guidance and school-specific briefsAssist with clash detection, model updates, and drawing revisions as design evolvesCreate and manage Revit families for educational furniture and equipmentWork within established BIM protocols and contribute to the ongoing development of internal FF&E and Catering BIM standardsPrepare and manage COBie-compliant FF&E and catering data sets for use in BIM workflows and asset managementSupport tender and procurement packages with accurate data and drawingsParticipate in design meetings, site visits, and internal reviews as requiredLead the development and infill of Cobie and information management in alignment with BIM level 2 (BS EN ISO 19650-2) standardsSkills & ExperienceTotally proficient in Autodesk Revit, with experience producing FF&E layouts and schedulesVery strong understanding of BIM workflows and model coordinationAbility to produce detailed technical drawings independently (without supervision)Desirable experience & interestsAbility to interpret briefs, room datasheets, and technical requirementsExperience running Design projects from RIBA work stages 3 (concept), 4 (technical) 5 (manufacture / construction)BIM accreditation and competent in producing technical drawings, elevations, and 3D visualisations and an interest in the use of AI in designAttention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and methodical approach to documentationEffective communication and collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary teamComfortable working across multiple projects with varying timelinesExperience and capabilities in building Revit familiesWorking knowledge of Autodesk Navisworks, Solibri , Autodesk AutoCAD, or Adobe Creative SuiteEffective communicator in client meetings with the ability to produce and manage design documentation, including BIM models, drawings, presentations, and written reports.Preferred Qualifications5 years + experience Advanced qualifications in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related fieldBIM level 2 certification understanding and ability to deliver in practiceDegree or masters in architecture, architectural technology, BIM management, interior design or FF&E interior space planning (similar level qualifications considered)Why Chalk?We’re an agile and fast-moving team with serious ambition, 10 years established with a proven track record and leader in the education sector.
