Job Description Machinist / FitterDue to increased demand, my client is seeking a Machinist/Fitter with strong manual machining and mechanical fitting experience.The successful candidate will be responsible for producing precision components, carrying out fitting and repair work, and supporting workshop operations. Experience with CNC and XYZ machines is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided. Welding and general engineering experience would be advantageous.Key ResponsibilitiesInterpret drawings, samples and job specificationsPlan and carry out machining operationsOperate manual lathes, milling machines, pillar drills and CNC equipmentSet up machines, select tooling, and monitor machining processesInspect finished components using measuring equipment (callipers, micrometres, verniers)Work with ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics and copperRepair shafts and journalsPerform routine machine maintenanceMaintain accurate job recordsFollow health 'safety procedures and maintain a clean workspaceWork independently or as part of a teamSupport batch and one-off production workParticipate in overtime and call-out rota as requiredAbout YouProven experience as a machinistStrong manual machining and fitting skillsAbility to read and interpret technical drawingsKnowledge of speeds and feedsExperience with welding and balancing (advantageous)Competent with precision measuring toolsPackageFrom 33,000Bonus SchemeCareer Progression OpportunitiesPrivate HealthcareMonday-Friday 8am-5pmOvertime Available
