Job Description Outside IR35 Contract | Civil Design Engineer | Water SectorContract: Longterm, Outside IR35Location: Chatham, Kent (Flexible Hybrid)Our client in water is seeking an experienced Civil Design Engineer to support the design and delivery of infrastructure and noninfrastructure projects across a broad programme of work. This longterm contract offers the opportunity to play a key role in developing, reviewing, and coordinating civil engineering designs within a fastpaced, essential services environment. Hybrid working is available, with regular presence required at the Chatham office.Key ResponsibilitiesProduce, review, and develop civil engineering designs for water and wastewater infrastructurePrepare design calculations, technical drawings, and specifications in line with industry and regulatory standardsSupport feasibility assessments, optioneering, and earlystage technical inputWork collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including process, mechanical, electrical, and delivery functionsEnsure all designs consider buildability, cost efficiency, safety, and sustainabilityManage and coordinate design documentation throughout the project lifecycleProvide technical support during construction, resolving design queries and responding to RFIsAssist in ensuring compliance with CDM, company policies, and water sector standardsContribute to continuous improvement of design methods and engineering processesSkills & Experience RequiredProven experience as a Civil Design Engineer within the water, utilities, or infrastructure sectorStrong proficiency in civil design tools such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroDrainage (or similar)Sound understanding of water and wastewater infrastructure, pipelines, pumping stations, and associated civil assetsStrong technical reporting and drawing production skillsExperience in multidisciplinary project environmentsEffective communication skills and a collaborative mindsetAbility to work independently while engaging proactively with stakeholdersIf youre a proactive and technically strong Civil Design Engineer seeking a longterm Outside IR35 opportunity within the water sector, wed love to hear from you.
