Quality Inspector Composites (Formula 1) Location: Oxfordshire Formula 1 Team Rate: 29.91 PAYE or 35.60 UMB Contract: Initial contract until year end, with strong potential of extension. With perm oppotunities Shift Options: Monday to Thursday | 07:30 18:30 Monday to Friday | 08:00 17:00 About the Role We're seeking a skilled Quality Inspector to join a leading Formula 1 team, ensuring components meet the highest standards of precision and performance.To measure and check parts for conformance to specification and performing other metrology and analysis tasks. Components could be made by any of the prevailing techniques used in Formula 1 vehicle manufacture but predominantly metallic machining . Main Duties: Applying knowledge of manufacturing technologies to aid in inspection of metallic components. Use of metrology tools and methods; visual inspection, hand tools, programming and operating CMMs, use of Absolute/Romer arms (probing and scanning), shadowgraphs, surface testers and contour tracing machines. Ensure that parts are inspected and processed during the required time periods. Show excellent communication skills in reporting pertinent information to designers, manufactur-ers and other members of the team. Effective organisation along with a proactive approach to using procedures that encourage con-tinuous improvement. You will take pride in your work and be able to operate with minimum su-pervision. Be flexible to provide support in composite quality control if required. Key Accountabilities: Fulfil all organisational expectations, including but not limited to the following: Understand and work in line with Williams Values & Behaviours, encouraging others to do the same. Ensure understanding of and compliance with health and safety obligations. Maintain personal high standards of behaviour and conduct, being a positive ambassador for the de-partment. Ensure you adhere to brand rules and maintain high standards of department presentation. Work to quality standards and identify and contribute ways to continuously improve department and personal performance. Ensure understanding of cost cap rules and requirements. Core Competencies: - Ability to complete routine and complex inspection processes using a variety of tools. - Proactive approach with the ability to work at a sustainable pace. - Strong knowledge of components and parts manufactured in a variety of methods and materials including metals, plastics and carbon fibre composites. - Confidence to independently draw meaningful conclusions on part quality and ensure that all relevant data regarding the work is kept up to date and accurate. Qualifications & Experience Recognised engineering apprenticeship or relevant industry experience. Experience with Absolute arms , Leica trackers , and Polyworks software (probing, scanning, CMMs) is highly advantageous. Previous experience in Formula 1, motorsport, or high-end manufacturing is desirable.
