Head of Finance (Part Time 16 hours per week) Are you a hands-on finance professional looking for a flexible, part-time role working for a small independent charity? Ferne Animal Sanctuary is seeking a Head of Finance to lead our small finance team and take responsibility for the charitys financial operations.Read on to find out what you will need to succeed in this position, including skills, qualifications, and experience.In this key role, you'll manage day-to-day processes, support strategic planning through clear financial reporting, and contribute to the long-term sustainability of our work protecting animals in need.Youll be supported by two team members, including an Assistant Finance Manager, and will be responsible for: Overseeing the day-to-day finance function Preparing monthly management accounts with commentary Preparing the annual budget Preparing year-end accounts to trial balance and liaising with auditors Presenting financial reports to the CEO and Board of Trustees Supporting compliance and good financial governance This role offers flexibility on working pattern, though most of the role will be based at the sanctuary in Chard.About you Youll bring experience in finance and reporting, a confident, collaborative style, and a practical approach to supporting an experienced small team.Charity experience is welcome but not essential, were more interested in your ability to combine sound financial management with a genuine interest in our mission.
