Job DescriptionDeputy Manager (Children & Young People) | Swansea | Full Time | Circa 38,000 plus Overtime (average 3,000)Hafan Saff Cyf is a provider of Children and Young Persons' Residential Services. We achieve this by proactively developing the skills and experience of our staff through regular supervision, ongoing support, training, and a competency-based appraisal process.We are currently seeking to hire a Deputy Manager to work with us at our home located between Swansea and Carmarthen. You will have significant experience of working within a Residential Children's Home in perhaps a senior or team-leading role and are looking for the next step forward in your career.Are you the right person for the job?Minimum of two years' experience at Deputy, Senior, or Team Leader level within a Children's Residential SettingIdeally hold QCF Level 4, Children and Young People, be working toward its completion or willing to commence study.What will your role look like?Working alongside the Registered Manager Monday to Friday 9am-5pm The Deputy Manager will deputise for the Registered Manager when required, ensuring a positive, person-centred, homely environment.Supporting the Manager in the operational management of available resources to ensure an uninterrupted service, including stepping in on occasion to supervise shifts, when needs of the home demandParticipation in an out-of-hours On-Call' Rota alongside the ManagerMaintaining high levels of emotional and physical care, appropriate activities, comfortable accommodation, and the activities of key workers are planned, provided for, and applied in accordance with the Home's procedures and strategies.Promoting team development and effective teamworkMaximising the effectiveness of staff through motivation, development, and mentoringLeading by example in setting high standards and evaluating outcomesTaking a proactive role in driving improvements in the quality of services providedTo ensure compliance with all regulations and standards applicable to the management of Children's Residential Settings in WalesManaging financial budgets, control systems, and administrative records in line with organisational procedures and expectationsWhat can you expect in return?Opportunities to build a career with us as we grow.A culture of co-operation and communication, where contributions are welcomed from staff at all levels.Pro-active support of our staff through regular supervision, ongoing support, training, and appraisalsA performance-based compensation structureOpportunities for overtimeSleep allowanceWhat is next?
