General duties include surgery and telephone consultations, triage, visiting patients, signing repeat prescriptions, and processing clinical documentation.Participate in the duty doctor rotaMake professional, autonomous decisions for presenting problemsScreen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illnessManage clinical care in surgery – initiate investigations, review results, make referrals to secondary care or other providersDevelop care and treatment plans with patients and in line with current practice disease‑management protocols and NICE guidanceEnsure appropriate follow‑up of patientsRecord clear and contemporaneous computerised consultation notes to agreed standardsPrescribe generically when appropriate and in accordance with the ICB and practice formulary, NICE guidance and Good Prescribing PracticeComply with QOF targets, ICB initiatives and nationally or locally commissioned enhanced servicesComplete reports for solicitors, insurance companies and other third partiesWork with and support other primary health‑care team members to deliver high‑quality careTake an active role in clinical governance and preventative health care adviceLead on training, supervising and supporting learners (e.g., Medical students)Other Responsibilities Within the PracticeWork in accordance with NCPC agreed clinical procedures and protocolsCommit to achieving the highest possible quality standards in clinical careCommit to life‑long learning and audit to ensure evidence‑based best practiceContribute to evaluation, audit and clinical standard setting within the organisationAttend training and events organised by the practice or other agencies (clinical and non‑clinical)Participate in practice clinical meetingsProvide information when reasonably requested to ensure accurate personnel and other records (e.g., hepatitis status)Participate in the GP revalidation and appraisal scheme; maintain portfolio of continuing professional development activitiesPerson Specification – Qualifications Essential: MRCGP.Other Requirements • Disclosure and Barring Service Check – subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. • UK Registration – current UK professional registration required.Employer Details Warwick Square Group Practice Grosvenor House Surgery, Warwick Square, Carlisle, Cumbria, CA1 1LB Website: Details Reference Number: A1177‑26‑0001 Contract: Permanent – Full‑time, Part‑time options Date Posted: 28 February 2026#J-18808-Ljbffr
