Job Description Site Manager - Security Fencing Project (High Voltage Substation)Location: Carlisle, UKContract Type: Freelance (Outside IR35)Payment Options: Ltd Company, CIS or UmbrellaDay Rate: 350-450/dayDuration: 45-week build with potential for extensionStart Date: Mid JanuaryAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee a security fencing installation on a high voltage substation construction project in Carlisle. This is a critical role ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of works in a high-risk environment.Please note: This is not a live substation site, so National Grid tickets are not required.Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day site operations for the security fencing package.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, particularly in high-voltage environments.Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.Monitor progress against programme and report to the Project Manager.Maintain accurate site records, including permits, risk assessments, and daily logs.Liaise with the client and stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery.RequirementsProven experience as a Site Manager on civil engineering or fencing projects, ideally within substation or power infrastructure environments.Strong understanding of CDM regulations and HSE standards.SMSTS certification (essential).Other relevant site management tickets such as First Aid at Work, CSCS (desirable).Excellent organisational and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple teams and work under pressure.What We OfferOutside IR35 engagement - Ltd Company, CIS or Umbrella options available.Competitive day rate.45-week build with potential for extension.Opportunity to work on a high-profile energy infrastructure project.Supportive team environment with career development opportunities.To Apply: Send your CV and cover letter Desired Skills and ExperienceSMSTSExtensive civil engineering experience First Aid at Work Ability to write risk assessments and method statementsSome commercial understanding Please click here to find out more about our Key Information Documents.
