Job DescriptionCorporate/Commercial Partner/Head of DepartmentA dynamic, award-winning law firm with offices across South Wales is seeking a highly experienced and commercially driven legal professional to lead its Corporate and Commercial Department as part of ongoing strategic growth.This is a standout opportunity for a forward-thinking leader with an entrepreneurial mindset to take full ownership of a key department within a progressive and innovative firm.The RoleThe Head of Corporate & Commercial / Commercial Property will hold a pivotal strategic and operational position, responsible for setting the direction and overseeing the development of this core department. In addition to leading a team, the successful candidate will manage a caseload of corporate and commercial matters.Key responsibilities will include:Leading and expanding the Corporate and Commercial team, setting strategic goals and ensuring high standards of deliveryManaging a varied caseload including M&A, joint ventures, shareholder agreements, restructures, commercial contracts and commercial property transactionsDriving business development and client acquisition across both local and national marketsCollaborating with the Managing Director and senior leadership team on firm-wide strategy and innovationMentoring junior solicitors and promoting a collaborative, performance-led cultureRepresenting the firm at key industry events, conferences and networking functionsCandidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor in England & Wales with significant post-qualification experience in corporate/commercial law and commercial property.Essential criteria include:A minimum of 8 years PQE in corporate/commercial legal practiceA proven record in leadership, business development and handling complex transactionsStrong commercial awareness and the ability to think strategically and entrepreneuriallyRobust technical expertise across a wide range of corporate and commercial legal mattersConfidence and presence to engage with stakeholders at board levelAbility to work independently, maintaining consistent billing performanceHybrid working available arrangements to be agreed at interviewWillingness to travel to other regional offices as neededRemuneration & BenefitsStarting salary from 100,000 per annum (highly negotiable depending on experience)Performance-related bonus scheme, Hybrid and good benefits package.This is a rare opportunity to take on a leadership role within a forward-thinking, award-winning firm.
