Respiratory PhysiologistAs a Respiratory Physiologist, you will deliver high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic care to patients with respiratory and sleep-related conditions. Working in a busy NHS setting, you’ll carry out a range of tests, support treatment pathways, and ensure clinical accuracy in both results and reporting.Location: South WalesJob Type: Temporary / Part-TimeWorking Pattern: 3–4 days per weekSector: NHS – Clinical PhysiologyStart Date: ASAPCompliance: Full documentation and right to work in the UK requiredQualifications: ARTP Part 1 & 2; BSE in Clinical Physiology or equivalentKey Responsibilities1. Diagnostic TestingPerform lung function tests (spirometry, gas transfer, lung volumes)Conduct broncho-provocation, ABG/CBG sampling, and 6-minute walk tests2. Sleep ServicesCarry out sleep studies and CPAP setupMonitor and adjust therapy based on clinical and technical reviews3. Reporting & CommunicationInterpret results and provide clear clinical reportsCommunicate findings effectively with clinical teams and patients4. Quality & ComplianceMaintain accurate records in line with NHS standardsCalibrate and maintain equipment; follow departmental protocols5. Team SupportParticipate in service development and training of junior staffProvide flexible support across the team as requiredSkills & ExperienceEssential:NHS experience in respiratory diagnostics and sleep studiesStrong technical ability and attention to detailExcellent communication and clinical interpretation skillsDesirable:Familiarity with NHS systems and reporting toolsAdditional training in advanced diagnostics or sleep medicine
