Job Description Mechanical Plant Fitter Large Plant EquipmentLocation: CardiffMonday to Friday, 7:00am 3:00pmPay rate: 19.00 per hourWeekly PayA great opportunity has become available for an experienced Mechanical Plant Fitter to join a well-established engineering operation specialising in large plant and heavy mechanical assemblies. This role suits someone who enjoys hands-on engineering, problem-solving, and working on machinery that genuinely challenges your technical ability. Welding or basic fabrication experience is beneficial and supports a wide range of repair and overhaul tasks.Key ResponsibilitiesStripping, inspecting and rebuilding heavy mechanical componentsWorking on gearboxes, drivetrains and large mechanical assembliesUsing overhead cranes, jibs and lifting equipment safelyCarrying out planned and reactive maintenance on plant equipmentDiagnosing mechanical faults and completing high-quality repairsReading and interpreting technical drawings and engineering documentationEnsuring all work is completed in line with safety procedures and quality standardsWhat We're Looking ForStrong mechanical fitting background (plant, rail, HGV, industrial, marine or similar)Experience working with heavy components and lifting equipmentConfident with mechanical fault-finding and diagnosticsWelding or fabrication experience is beneficialAbility to work independently and as part of a teamGood understanding of health 'safety in an engineering environmentReliable, proactive and keen to develop new skillsJBRP1_UKTJ
