(Regional Travel Required)Salary: 55,000 - 70,000 + Car or Allowance, Private MedicalAbout the Role:Were partnering with a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor seeking someone to lead their sustainability and environmental function across the South Wales and England Its an excellent opportunity for an experienced Sustainability & Environmental Manager to drive regional initiatives, influence strategy, and embed best practice across multi-disciplinary projects.Youll work closely with project, operational and senior leadership teams to drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance, and strengthen the regions sustainability culture. Youll also lead and develop a regional team of advisors.Key Responsibilities:Shape and deliver the regional sustainability and environmental strategyProvide expert guidance on environmental legislation, industry standards and best practiceIntegrate sustainability considerations into project planning and deliveryLead investigations, reporting and corrective actions for environmental incidentsSupport training, coaching and development for project teamsManage and mentor regional sustainability/environmental advisorsOversee site visits, audits and reporting across active projectsBuild strong relationships with clients, regulators and internal stakeholdersWhat were looking for:Background in civil engineering, infrastructure or construction, rail experience beneficialRelevant qualification in Environmental or Sustainability disciplinesChartered or working toward chartered status (IEMA or equivalent)Strong understanding of legal and contractual frameworks relating to environmental sustainabilityConfident engaging at all levels and influencing project delivery teams
