Job DescriptionJob Title: Design CoordinatorCompany: Sacyr UK and IrelandLocation: New Velindre Cancer Centre, Cardiff, WalesAs a Design Coordinator, youll play a pivotal role in our mission to create a state-of-the-art cancer centre. Join our dynamic team and make a difference!The Architectural Design Coordinator, you will work closely with our Design Management and Construction. Will be responsible for coordinating key information, engineering and working drawing packages to enable the Velindre Cancer Centre to be built as intended and to obtain all technical approvals. You will work alongside colleagues in the co-ordination of the design and build throughout the duration of construction projects, from pre-construction through to completion.About Us: At Sacyr UK and Ireland, were passionate about creating a better world through our projects. If this sounds like you, and you can demonstrate the required skills and experience, we want to hear from you.Our Benefits:Inclusive work environment, Sunday Times Top 100 Employer 2024 and 202534 days holidayEmployee Assistance ProgrammeFinancial, Emotional and Physical Wellbeing SupportOngoing professional development opportunitiesProfessional membership supportCompany pensionCycle to work schemeTech schemeEmployee discount schemeLanguage lessonsLife insuranceSick payWellness Your Way programmeAnnual Health ChecksSacyr Sports Club, and much more.Key Responsibilities include:Provide technical support to project teams and resolve any design or construction issues that may arise.Review and analyse project designs to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.Participate in meetings with clients and stakeholders to discuss project requirements and progress.Keep abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices in architectural design and construction.Manage architectural design as agreed with the Design Manager.Provide inputs when necessary to the Principal Designer coordinator.Coordinate architectural design to deliver the Hospital design including construction drawings, details, legal plans, etc.Undertaking value engineering assessment and ensure buildability (if applicable).Coordinate submission of designs and securing technical approvals as per the Project Agreement.Resolve all technical related queries, including conducting site visits as required in a daily basis.Liaison with the Construction team to facilitate any design information as required in accordance with the programme and the site requests maintaining a Construction TQ register and Site Instructions register if changes are implemented in the designLiaison with the Design team if clarifications and/or changes are required in the main design due to site constraints, etc until implementationEnsure construction team is provided with the latest version of the construction drawingsAs-built drawings management: adding inputs to Design as requiredTo support the commercial team with any technical inputs as may be required for procurement, subcontract engagement, etcESSENTIAL CRITERIARight to work in the UKMinimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry as part of technical teams.Bachelors Degree in Engineering/Architectural/Construction.Experience working within a technical role in a construction site (preferably Hospitals).Good level of IT literacy with experience of Autocad, Revit (desirable as the project is design in Revit), Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.Excellent organization and time management with ability to multitask. Commercially aware.Ability to make decisions within authority. Able to lead work as a team member.Experienced in analyzing problems and delivering solution. Be able to design and interpret the designs and technical demands of others.Good level of communication skills, with the necessity to liaise with internal staff and external stakeholders.Extensive multi-tasking abilities & advanced problem-solving capabilities.Teamworking; relationship-building and influencing skills.DESIRABLE CRITERIACSCS card qualification.Knowledge of ISO19650 and use of CDEs in construction projects.Experience coordinating the Principal Designer from a Constructor perspective.Experience working in a BIM environment.Knowledge of BIM360/ Autodesk Construction Cloud platform (ACC).Knowledge of the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001In return, you will be working on a high profile 'once in a lifetime' project where you will be supported by a collaborative team in a learning environment.
