Find out more about the Emerging Director Award here and the eligibilty criteria here .We invite applicants that areA member of the IoD Canterbury's branch, or your membership application submission date proceeds the date the award application is receivedIn the early stages of your governance journey i.e. with fewer than five years’ governance experienceBenefits include$1500 towards IoD professional developmentComplimentary IoD membership for 12 monthsFree attendance at all Canterbury branch events for 12 monthsMentoring with an experienced director for 12 monthsInternship with a sponsoring board for 12 monthsApplicants cannot beA current mentee participating in IoD’s Mentoring for Diversity programme, Tautua Pasifika mentoring programme and/or an appointed Future Director currently observing on a Host BoardTo apply, you mustDemonstrate a commitment to developing your governance skillsHave skills and experience that would be useful to a boardHave at least three years’ experience in a senior management role; or as a professional business advisor; or from growing your own business; or from sitting on a NFP board or a small company boardDemonstrate an understanding of the importance of sound governanceHave not held a significant governance role to date.
