Vacancy Summary Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Type: Permanent Job Ref: #1237 Location: Cambridgeshire Start Date: ASAP Salary: c75k-85k basic plus competitive package inc car allowance, pension, healthcare etc. Company & Project: Apple Technical Recruitment are working alongside an award winning Tier 1 Main Contractor operating across multiple new build and refurbishment sectors, seeking to recruit an experienced an effective Senior Quantity Surveyor to complement their surveying team, joining a recent project win. The project is a c25m New Build Education project located in Cambridge. Duties & Responsibilities: The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing all daily commercial management functions, including but not limited to; measurement & valuations, applications for payment, reconciling accounts, dealing with sub-contract orders and enquiries, through to practical completion of the project and settling final accounts. Previous experience on projects 20m+ as Number 1 QS is essential, along with a strong working knowledge of assisting with CVR's and monthly reporting. The projected profit, cash-flow and margin realisation is the key responsibility for surveyors in this business, as such it is expected that the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong track record in each of these areas. Desirable Experience: Minimum 10 years+ experience as a QS on Construction projects in excess of 20m. Good knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts would be advantageous. Excellent negotiation skills and previous experience procuring subcontractors. Strong track interpersonal and communication. Previous Roles: Senior Quantity Surveyor OR Project QS OR Quantity Surveyor. Qualifications & Skills: Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management or comparable.
