Job Description Bulb InteriorsQuantity SurveyorCambridge, EnglandRole ProfileAs a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of a number of projects from pre-construction to final account. This includes managing all aspects of the commercial and contractual requirements and ensuring our projects are delivered within budget. You will play a key role in managing client relationships, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the overall success of our projects.Responsibilities include but not limited toLead the preparation and management of project budgets and cost plans from the pre-construction phase.Manage all commercial and contractual matters on projects, including variations, valuations, and final accounts.Prepare and issue tender documents, analyse tender returns, and negotiate with subcontractors to secure the best value.Prepare and submit applications for payment and ensure timely payment from clients.Administer and manage all contractual terms and conditions, ensuring compliance and mitigating commercial risk.Work collaboratively with the project team, including Project Managers, Designers, and Operations staff, to ensure project delivery within budget.Provide regular and accurate financial reports and forecasts to senior management and clients.Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and assess project costs.Assist in resolving contractual and commercial disputes.Mentor and support junior staff, providing guidance and training on quantity surveying best practices.Negotiate and settle final accounts with subcontractors and clients.Skills & ExperienceProven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the commercial interior fit-out or construction industry.Strong knowledge of various forms of contract, including JCT and NEC.Demonstrable experience with project values exceeding 5m.Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.A relationship-focused approach to clients and subcontractors.Recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related construction field.Familiarity with local market and subcontractor base is highly desirable.What We OfferIn return, you will receive a competitive salary and a generous benefits package, including a pension, paid holiday leave, and travel opportunities across our global offices.
