Job Description Scientist I Product developmentLocation:Cambridge, UKEmployment Type:FulltimeIf youre a product development scientist who loves being in the lab, solving technical challenges, and contributing to products that power nextgeneration sequencing, this role offers a chance to make a real impact early in your career.About the RoleYoull join a collaborative R&D team developing innovative reagents and workflows for NGS. This is a handson laboratory position where youll design and run experiments, analyse data, and help drive improvements in product performance and robustness.What Youll Do- Perform molecular biology experiments to support NGS reagent research and development- Prepare and optimise DNA libraries, enzymes, and buffer systems- Troubleshoot assays and contribute to iterative workflow improvements- Maintain accurate experimental records and contribute to technical documentation- Work closely with scientists across the whole company- Present experimental findings to project teamsWhat You Bring- BSc or MSc in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Biotechnology, or a related field- 1-2 years of handson laboratory experience in industry- Essential skills, at least 1 of the following: Library preparation for NGS (Illumina or ONT) DNA/RNA extraction AND PCR/qPCR- Desirable but not essential experience with: Product development Experience of reagent formulation, QC, filling and kitting in a production environment.
