They are looking for a UK Technical & Quality Manager to take ownership of technical, food safety and quality compliance across its imported fresh produce supply into UK retailers.THE ROLE - WHAT YOU'LL REALLY BE DOINGThis is a hands-on, end-to-end technical role with real influence.You'll be the technical lead for all imported produce into the UK, acting as the primary contact for retailers, suppliers and third-party packhouses - ensuring everything is safe, legal, compliant and commercially fit for market.If you enjoy supplier engagement, audits, retailer standards and rolling your sleeves up to solve quality issues, this role will suit you perfectly.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOversee food safety and quality for all imported fresh produceEnsure compliance with UK legislation and retailer codes of practiceMaintain full traceability across suppliers and third-party packhousesCommunicate changes in legislation, specifications and customer requirementsManage supplier approval, due diligence and compliance documentationReview and support supplier internal auditsProvide technical support to third-party packing operationsApprove packaging, traceability systems and customer requirementsConduct on-site quality inspections where requiredSupport quality service providers and operational teamsWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORYou'll likely be:A Technical or Quality Manager in fresh produce or food supplyExperienced with UK retailer standards and imported xjdpvnf produceConfident managing supplier approval, audits and due diligenceFamiliar with Sedex and ethical audit platformsComfortable working independently and managing multiple customer systemsHappy to travel within the UK and occasionally overseasIf you're a commercially aware Technical Manager who enjoys being close to the product, the growers and the customer - this is one worth exploring.
