Process Technologist

Salary: £45,000Location: BurnopfieldWorking hours: Monday to Friday (Friday WFH)Alexander Steele are working with an established ambient food manufacturing business in Durham who are actively recruiting for a Process Technologist to join their technical team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a process or NPD-related role within food manufacturing and a strong understanding of factory trials, product launches, and scale-up processes. Roles & ResponsibilitiesManage factory trials and scale-up processes for new and existing products, ensuring successful handover from kitchen to productionWork closely with NPD, Technical, and Operations teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective products to marketSupport product launches, ensuring they meet customer expectations and comply with internal and external standardsConduct post-launch reviews to identify opportunities for improvement in product quality, cost, or process efficiencyMaintain accurate documentation, including trial reports, process specs, and risk assessmentsLiaise with customers during trials and visits, providing technical input and process insightDrive continuous improvement across manufacturing processes, focusing on consistency, waste reduction, and line efficiencyEnsure all trials and processes comply with food safety, quality, and hygiene requirements On Offer£45,000 annual salaryMonday to Friday – with flexibility to work from home on Fridays33 days annual leaveCompany pensionGreat opportunity to work in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment If this role is of interest or you require further information, please apply with your most up-to-date CV and I will be in touch.
